LRHA enables bungalow move
Christine Pozorski is settling into her new home after appealing to Leicestershire Rural Housing Association for help.
The 76-year-old former council worker desperately needed to move from her two-bedroom house as she was struggling to get around and manage the stairs. But Christine, who moved to Breedon-on-the-Hill six years ago, was also very keen to stay in the village to be close to her son.
Christine, who has COPD explains: “I was really struggling to manage in my previous house as I suffer badly with my chest. It wasn’t just the stairs inside that I couldn’t cope with, there were also steps down to the garden which were really difficult for me.
“I knew I needed to move but I really wanted to stay in Breedon-on-the-Hill as my son lives close by and is able to help me whenever I need it.”RHA was able to offer Christine a two-bedroom bungalow with a wet room - just down the road from her previous property.
She says: “The bungalow is just perfect for me. I have a nice garden and it will be lovely to sit out in the summer. I feel a lot more able to manage my new home and it’s reassuring to know my son isn’t far away.”
