Meet the board
Reg Ward, Chair
Reg is Chair of the Association. He joined the Board with the aim of improving the provision of rural housing. He is retired but still keeps himself very busy in his capacity as a Councillor at Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, where he is currently Chair of the Planning Committee. Reg considers his role as assisting in engaging with communities, and considers the key issues facing the Association are the funding and burden of central bureaucracy which he feels impedes good quality delivery of services.
Jennifer Line, Vice Chair
Jenny is currently Vice Chair of the Association. She is Programme Manager at World Habitat, which is based in Coalville. Jenny previously worked at Blaby District Council and for a Leicestershire based consultancy. She is very familiar with local housing market issues, and the challenges surrounding affordable rural housing.
Nikki is a retired Deputy Headteacher. She is actively involved in rural and heritage issues.
Chris Lambert BA (Hons) PCPLM FCIH
Chris is the Head of Housing at North West Leicestershire District Council and has worked in local government since the early 1990's. Chris was previously a board member of Northamptonshire Rural Housing Association. He considers his role as supporting the business objectives of the organisation and providing professional constructive challenges when appropriate. He also represents Leicestershire Rural Housing Association on the Board of Midlands Rural Housing, and currently holds the position of Vice Chair.
Caroline is a Chartered Building Surveyor with her own practice. When she was a councillor at North West Leicestershire District Council she campaigned for an increased premium of affordable rural homes and she hopes to carry this on through her role on the Board.
Valerie joined the Board in September 2017.
